So spake the jury
Corinna has charted her own course over the 5 years of Mixed Media, where experimentation and material research are central. The work is strongly influenced by chance: accidental processes are not only accepted but intentionally used as defining visual elements. She possesses extensive technical knowledge of bronze and other casting techniques. This expertise is not applied purely artisanally but serves as a foundation to explore the boundaries of the material. Corinna experiments purposefully and examines the extremes of what the material can physically and aesthetically endure. Residual forms, remnants of previous casting processes or experiments are not considered waste but are recycled and reworked. This creates a circular way of working in which every component remains meaningful and can develop into new work. This combination of technical mastery, experimental mindset, and the interplay of chance makes the work exciting and quirky. She dares to take risks. This gives the work an open character. The work 'Body of Sound' represents a significant moment: sound, originally a flowing, intangible form, is transformed into tangible matter. This conversion from the ephemeral to the permanent not only reveals a fascination for form and process but also shows the courage to trust in the unpredictable nature of material transformations. She has presented authentic works with this experimental and process-oriented approach. It is a strong dialogue between form, technique, and chance.
